My logo design is based on the Fibonacci Spiral, Fibonacci Sequence , or Golden Ratio.
Artists recognized that the Fibonacci Spiral is an expression of an aesthetically pleasing principle called the Rule of Thirds. This is often used in the composition of a picture by balancing the features of the image by thirds, rather than strictly centering them, a more pleasing flow to the picture is achieved.
Although based on mathematics, the Fibonacci Spiral is often found in nature.
In David Ovens’ "Young Woman Reading in the Studio", 1901, the Fibonacci spiral can be seen in the model’s pose as the innermost point of the spiral is placed on her eye. From here it takes in the curve of her head and shoulder before sweeping out to encompass the chair, window and angle of the easel.
